(1)Typically (not every year) July 5-Aug 15 is the mid-season lull of the hurricane season.I take vaca during this time!Dry air limits development in tropical Atlantic,while lifting jet stream closes down homegrown development.Having said that,there are 2 areas I 'm watching.

SW Atlantic is the concern this weekend for homegrown tropical development. Already some storms off Florida coast. Wind shear does weaken Sat-Sun in this zone. Not sure, however, the showers/t-storm remain over water long enough to develop into a T.D. or storm

I count 6 isobars across the Texas panhandle at 2pm Fri with a 974 mb low in SW Kansas.Extreme winds will result in multiple dust storms. I am not in the business of predicting fires, but these conditions tell me there will end up being large ones this pm.Awful conditions today.
