The children have been harvesting the first batch of crops from the poly tunnels. Eventually these homegrown ingredients will be used in meals for the children, this will help them understand where their food comes from and encourages them to eat healthy. #pd #eyfs #Science

Last week our nursery had an exciting visit from the local fire brigade. The firefighters brought along their fire engine and their equipment. The highlight of the visit was when each child got a turn to use the fire hose. #eyfs #pd

Today we have been finding different and more interesting ways to write “went”. We had a little word hunt outside and found more interesting ways to write went such as ambled, plodded and clambered. #english

In our topic “what does home mean to you” we have been discussing families. We read some of the book ‘The great big book of families’ by Mary Hoffman Roz Asquith. We discussed our own families and then created our homes and draw our families #pd

Year one have been discussing the question “what does home mean to you?” We talked about our families and our homes and sketched our houses. #art #pd

In maths we have been looking at numbers to 100 and we have partitioned them into tens and ones using the base ten. #maths

Nursery were very excited to visit the poly tunnels. We moved the seedlings that we started in our class. We were also shown a baby dragonfly and an ant hill #eyfs #pd

We have been making African prints in art. We used different materials to give our animals different textures and once they were dry we painted over the top and made a print. #art

In our two year provision yesterday the children thoroughly enjoyed coming to the front of the class and showing off their photos of what they got up to over the holidays. We were super impressed at their confidence to speak at the front of the class! #EYFS #oracy

Year 4 are using our oracy skills to create a diamond 9. We were given 9 cards with people on who could be to blame for the sinking of the Titanic and we had to decide who was most to blame. We have had an interesting debate! #history

Year 3 have been making 3D shapes, thinking about their properties. We have learnt about faces, edges, vertices and the names of shapes. #maths

Year 1 created their own mini versions of Psalm 8 using oil pastels in the style of art works from the Museum of Psalms in Jerusalem #RE

EYFS had an amazing day celebrating VE Day. We all made our own bonnets and flags. We finished our parade by singing “ We’ll meet again”. #eyfs #pd
