Back on April 26, Forty-four Octathlon teams of 9th and 10th graders from across the state competed. We are proud to annouce that Garland High was the highest scoring Octathlon team in the state. Congrats to them and all students who competed.

Texas is proud to celebrate the wonderful accomplishments of the 8 Texas teams who competed at USAD Nationals and USAD Online Nationals. These decathletes and coaches brought back scores of medals and learning experiences. Thank you to all who supported these teams!

One of our most accomplished and loved coaches, Vicki Rowe from Taylor High, received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the HEB Excellence in Education Awards. She'll also be featured on Wheel of Fortune tomorrow. We wish her lots of luck!.

We hope all decathletes competing at state this weekend give their very best and have a great time. Texas will be sending multiple teams to nationals this year. We can't wait to see which Texas teams will be headed to Iowa in April!
