To be an agent of a youth team player a prerequisite should be a minimum of working with young people in a non-football capacity for a substantial period of time (5-7 years) with a exemplary record of service. This would flush out those in it for a quick buck!

Brilliant decision!

Spoke with a parent today, her son plays organised football 7 days a week at 5 different clubs (4 PL academies & his grassroots club) and he is an U7. The kid was beaming, playing with a smile on his face. But I couldn’t help but think, there has to be a better way

It is great to see the wonderful work being put in by academies around the celebration of the individual. Recognising and celebrating soft skills and holistic development is crucial especially in the academy environment. Super move by Utd and @Coxy3012

Get set for a busy summer for recruitment. I think we could see record movement between academies over the next few months. The balance between pathway (what could be) and the wages (what is guaranteed) is an extremely difficult decision for young people and their families.

We are nearing retain and release part of the season for the FP and YDP. Clubs are becoming better at this process. Parents please remember this is not at the ‘end of the road’ if the decision is not favourable. Final decisions need to be made by the 3rd weekend in May.

In two transfer windows more than £2.5B spent by @premierleague clubs! Wouldn’t it be great if a levy was in place for a % of these fees to support grassroots and academy football. Should #PL clubs do more?
