We're glad to see that political parties in Scotland, like @ScottishGreens, are taking the public debt crisis seriously. We know public debt is pulling families deeper into poverty and holds them there. A more compassionate approach is needed to help families escape poverty.
In the rest of the UK council tax debt is written off after 6 years. In Scotland it's 20 years or longer. Some councils are chasing debts from 1993!. Fear of bailiffs means vulnerable people don't go to councils for the help they need, locking them in a cycle of poverty.

It's 1⃣ year since #UNCRC was incorporated into Scots Law. #ChildrensRights are at the❤️of Aberlour & helping children & young people raise their voices for change is important to us (Article 12.) More must be done to make children's rights real everyday, for every child.
