Very exciting to see some clinical data on fosmanogepix in invasive mounds! So much hard work has gone into developing these much-needed drugs, great to see it in the real world. We have reason to hope for a better future for our challenging IMI cases. #TID.
Fosmanogepix for the Treatment of Invasive Mold Diseases Caused by Aspergillus Species and Rare Molds: A Phase 2, Open-Label Study (AEGIS). ✅ Just Accepted.

Excited to see this out in the world! Great work from Dr Jess Chiodo-Reidy and all. Pre-neutropenic fever in AML and alloHCT is common, rarely has an infective cause and leads to a lot of antimicrobial use. More work in this space needed @NCICancer @monicaslavin @NCAS_Aus #txid.
Pre-neutropenic fever in patients with hematological malignancies: a novel target for antimicrobial stewardship. ✅ Just Accepted.🔗

What a great conference! So many amazing people in one room- a real honor to receive an award in their company. Thanks to Dr Murat Akova and the organising committee for a mammoth effort, and well done to the @NCICancer crew- so much good work on display 😊. #TID.
NCIC had a hugely successful #ICHS2024 with A/Prof Michelle Yong being announced as the council Vice President and Dr Abby Douglas being awarded best poster presentation. See you all again next year in Houston, Texas with @ChemalyRoy!

Thank you @thelancethaem for inviting me to review this important study. Australia has a long way to catch up to other parts of the world with good access to letermovir for those at risk. Do we need it beyond 100 days though? probably a cost-benefit decision #cmv #tid @NCICancer.
"Crucially, in the absence of a mortality benefit, a cost-effectiveness analysis would be important. In relation to letermovir prophylaxis, the question remains: how long is long enough?". Linked comment by @AbbyPDouglas & Monica A Slavin.

Very pleased to share our study on cost-effectiveness of FDG-PET/CT for persistent/recurrent neutropenic fever in high-risk pts, based on the PIPPIN RCT. FDG-PET/CT overall less expensive whilst aiding in antimicrobial rationalization @NCICancer
