We've done it! A podium in Japan!
Third overall after a really challenging weekend is the stuff of dreams.
Before we started, the podium was our ultimate aim, so to have achieved that on Takamoto Katsuta and TOYOTA GAZOO Racing home soil is very special indeed.

Well, what a weekend that was!
Rally Japan never disappoints and once again it delivered but for us we have mixed emotions.
On one hand we are absolutely thrilled with our pace and with NINE stage wins.

We've enjoyed three solid runs through Shakedown this morning.
The stage was great as were the conditions so we're now looking forward to the ceremonial start followed by the first stage in the fantastic Toyota Stadium.

Takamoto Katsuta and I have achieved our first WRC podium together after a difficult but rewarding week here at Safari Rally Kenya where er completed a TOYOTA GAZOO Racing 1, 2, 3 with Kalle Rovanperä and Elfyn Evans.

This afternoon's loop of stages was impacted by this morning's events with the first stage bring shortened and the last being cancelled due to barrier damage.

What a great start to this afternoon as we go fastest on stage five!
Our first run over the stage didn't go to plan in really difficult wet conditions this morning. We had a spin which resulted in an impact that caused damage to our car.

So! Shakedown didn't quite go to plan! We rolled on the third run, damaging our Toyota Yaris GR Rally1. However, the car drove out of the stage, & the damage was predominantly cosmetic from all the carbon parts used in these cars.

We are delighted to finish fourth overall after a very positive Rally Sweden which leaves us fifth in the championship standings after two rounds.

We've finished Safari Rally Kenya in 4th overall. Pleased with our overall performance and to come away with some valuable championship points is great. It's been a challenge and a true Safari adventure like only Kenya can deliver and we have enjoyed our time in Africa.

That's Rally Finland completed for another year and as always it's been a thrill!
Super fast and tricky stages kept us on our toes throughout and while we would have loved a podium finish, we're pleased with 6th overall and more Championship points.

The final stage today, though, was crazy! It was proper Safari rallying with rain, lying water and mud in parts and dry and dusty in others.

As is usual for this time of year, falling leaves and the potential of damp conditions can make some sections particularly tricky but overall the stages and surfaces look good.
