STRONG WINDS INCOMING: Expect strong winds Sunday afternoon into Monday. Gusts on Sunday could reach up to 35 mph, with gusts on Monday up to 30 mph. This will pair with very cold air to produce wind chills in the 30s on Sunday with teens possible early Monday. #triadwx #ncwx

It might surprise you to know that this winter has the same average temperature to last winter (39.5 vs 39.6). We had a long and intense cold spell, but we’ve also had warm spells too. This year, and last year, are about 2 degrees below our winter average.

RECORD BROKEN: There's a new record in town! Greensboro hit 76 degrees this afternoon at PTI. This eclipses the old record of 74 degrees set back in 1922. Lots of sunshine and strong WSW winds of 30-40 mph helped us achieve this. #triadclimate #ncwx

The backdoor front is north of Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Burlington right now. This increases our chances of getting very warm today. Staying cooler near the VA border.
