Meet Madeleine! She is finishing up her time here at Acadia as part of the secondary 16 month education program. Her teachables are English and Social studies! Madeleine will be teaching English at NKEC this coming fall. Here are a few words about her time in the program;

Our lovely classroom, SEM 231 has a new art installation! As part of the Deconstructing Space research project in the MEd program, artist Ibe Ananabas created “A Melting Pot: Embracing Shared Stories” which now hangs in the SEM classroom.

April 14-20 is Education Week in Nova Scotia! This year’s theme is Connections to Community, recognizing those who empower and enhance their communities by building strong school-community relationships that benefit students. Watch for more on our award recipients this week!

Our Fulltime 2023 cohort is in the middle of their practicum. One of the requirements is to accumulate some group therapy hours. Two of our students are offering a parenting group that focuses on supporting your kids in their online worlds.

The Red Spruce Mental Health Centre hosts bimonthly lunches for our School of Education community. Last month, Dr. MacKinnon warmed tummies with good old fashioned seafood chowder and biscuits. A shout out to Dr M's mom for the delicious cookies!🍪
