The Timberwolves are state champions. Cissna Park swept Stockton in a dominant performance to claim the program's first state title and finish the season at 40-1.

Cissna Park just wrapped an absolutely dominant opening set, finishing on a 14-1 run to win it 25-11. The Timberwolves are one set away from a state title.

Cissna Park is preparing to play Stockton in the IHSA Class 1A state title match here at CEFCU Arena in Normal. The Timberwolves, coming off a third-place finish last season and a fourth-place finish two seasons ago, are looking for their first state title.

With a 25-20 win in the second set, Cissna Park breaks through to the championship game for the first time in their third straight trip to state. The Timberwolves (39-1) will play Stockton tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. for a state title.

Josie Neukomm's eighth kill of the opening set gives Cissna Park a 25-19 win in the set. Addison Lucht also had eight kills for the Timberwolves, who are one set away from the state title game.

Cissna Park is getting set for its semifinal against Tremont here at the IHSA Class 1A State Finals. This is the Timberwolves' third straight trip to the state semis and they're looking to break into the championship game for the first time.

Recap: Dwight 43, Clifton Central 14

Dwight's Ayden Collom ran for a 6-yard TD with 5:11 left in the game, putting the Trojans up 43-14 on Clifton Central. That'll pretty much do it here, with Dwight set to return to the quarterfinals for the second straight season.

Clifton Central snapped a streak of 33 unanswered points by Dwight with an 18-yard touchdown from Brady Shule to Andrew Rohlwing with 1:42 left in the third quarter. The Comets successfully went for two and still trail the Trojans 36-14.

After yet another interception from the Dwight defense, Evan Cox rumbled in for a 24-yard touchdown to put the Trojans up 36-6. They have forced turnovers on all three of Clifton Central's second-half possessions to blow this one open.

After Dwight's Collin Bachand intercepted a pass on Clifton Central's first possession of the second half, he forced and recovered a fumble on the second and ran it back 49 yards for a touchdown. The Trojans lead 30-6 with 7:12 left in the third quarter.

Brady Shule's heave on the final play of the first half is intercepted by Dwight's Asher Kargle. The Trojans head into halftime up 24-6.

Dwight just got a huge special teams play from Will Anderson, who blocked a Clifton Central punt, scooped it up and ran it 10 yards for a touchdown. The two-point attempt is good on a run from Evan Cox and the Trojans lead 24-6 with 32 seconds left in the first half.

This 37-yard pass from Collin Bechand to Joe Duffy on third and 14 eventually led to a 14-yard TD from Evan Cox. Dwight leads Clifton Central 16-6 with 1:12 until halftime.

After an interception by Clifton Central's Derek Meier, quarterback Brady Shule caps off the drive with a 4-yard TD run. The extra point was not converted and the Comets lead Dwight 6-3 with 1:56 in the opening quarter.

Dwight's Erdi Gashi hits a 25-yard field goal, set up by a 45-yad run from Evan Cox, that puts the Trojans up 3-0 on Clifton Central with 8:34 to go in the first quarter.

Dwight is hosting Clifton Central this afternoon for Class 1A playoff football. The visiting Comets are looking for their first quarterfinal trip since 2019 while an upset win would give the Trojans their second straight quarterfinal appearance.

Coal City ran away from Chicago Academy in the second half to win 6-1. The Coalers' longest postseason run in program history ends with a third-place finish at state.

After Chicago Academy had several solid chances turned away in the final 10 minutes of the first half, Coal City's Adrian Dames scored just 7 seconds before halftime. The Coalers lead 1-0 at the break.
