Design inspiration comes from the Xixi Wetland, an icon of Hangzhou. Based on the local unique ecological environment, we created a design proposal focused on an interconnected network of layered design systems.

SPECT Studios has won a hotly contested competition for the @AlibabaGroup’s new Headquarters (Park C ) Campus Project in Hangzhou. The project will be defined by a landscape that breaks new ground, creating an ecologically rich working environment.

We are honoured to have received such recognition from one of the industry’s leading organizations, and we want to offer our congratulations to all other award winners from the conference.

Through the design process, the team created a new typology that fuses the forms of the urban park, square, amphitheatre, playground, lawn, streets, carpark, and retail. This mixture of uses reflects the energy and complexity of Prahran.

Prahran Square is an inventive reclamation of public space, turning a ground-plane carpark into a public space in a dense neighbourhood that was In desperate need of it.

Our Director Kirsten Bauer was in Chicago to accept this prestigious award, as well as present on Prahran Square and “Living Architecture and Urban Ecosystems” as part of the conference program.

The outcome across Quay Quarter is a testament to the spirt of teamwork, drive and collaboration from all who were involved, which in turn has led to such a high-quality design outcome. We’re delighted to see the project continuing to receive recognition from around the world.

We collaborated with the 3XN led design-team to design all internal and external landscape spaces, including the incredibly special public podium rooftop garden featuring a stunning artwork with international artist Olafur Eliasson.

The public domain and landscape have been designed to respond to the long and layered history of the place. Responses to cultural history will be expressed through the design of the ground plane, planting, furniture, play elements and paving.

The defining feature is a central plaza that acts as a 'Green Heart', while adding 2500 square meters of north-facing open public space mean the precinct will become a welcoming and sun-soaked area for visitors, students, and staff.

This incredible project will help to build on the partnerships between the UNSW health institutions in the Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct, with the design team working to create a world-class precinct that delivered an integrated approach to Connecting with Country.

We are thrilled to announce that we will be working alongside Architectus, Yerrabingin Pty Ltd, and Hansen Yuncken on the @UNSW Health Translation Hub.

Aecom worked to optimise the urban space and enhance the city image with the overall renewal of the space, drawing it away from an outdated business format and recreating the Centre for a new generation.

Aecom took guests through their Xintiandi Nanli Shopping Centre renovation, located at the core of the Xintiandi business district. The combination of the old Shanghai charm of the Shikumen buildings and the exquisite green space brings the romance of these areas back to life.

The spirit of the project is defined by its vivid architecture and unique living façades, sky decks, and sky gardens, with plants everywhere, at all heights and depths. Flowers, shrubs, trees, and draping flora form an extraordinary visual and spatial display.

On the day of the visit, Sam Xu, Associate of ASPECT, and Derek Chen, the project leader, walked a team of designers from Aecom, @SWAgroup, @HASSELL_Studio, @SasakiDesign and other SLF members though the site for a presentation of the design processes of the project.
