California is decarbonizing & the @californiapuc’s new gas infrastructure requirements will help to manage the transition with a focus on impacted communities, safety, equity, costs savings & the environment.
Today we adopted a new framework to comprehensively review utility natural gas infrastructure investments in order to help the state transition away from natural gas-fueled technologies and avoid stranded assets in the gas system. https://t.co/ziKpkwgIoG

The CPUC is proud to support CARB's Scoping Plan to achieve carbon neutrality in CA by 2045. Our continued work on the transition to renewable energy, zero-emission vehicles, and a climate-resilient grid will benefit every Californian & help to make this ambitious plan a reality.
CARB releases final proposal for world-leading #climateaction #ScopingPlan to drastically reduce #fossilfuel dependence & slash pollution. The plan would cut #airpollution by 71%, reduce fossil fuel consumption by 86% & reach #carbonneutrality by 2045. ➡️ https://t.co/0USmaz7qiF

Demand Response programs are available for residential, commercial & industrial customers, and include the Emergency Load Reduction Program for non-residential customers and the Power Saver Rewards Program and Smart Energy Program for residential customers.
Demand Response allows customers to decrease demand on the grid by reducing their electricity use during key times of the day and get compensated for it. Residential customers can participate in the Power Saver Rewards program to get compensation: https://t.co/mcpU0SgUjG

Customers will now be able to realize greater electric grid benefits by optimizing EV charging and participating in programs such as demand response – for both their and the grid’s benefit.
Today we made California the 1st state in the U.S. to allow electric vehicle owners to measure an #EV’s energy use independently from the owner’s main utility meter. #EnergyTwitter: https://t.co/Wxh21KeHqZ

In our ongoing efforts to shine a spotlight on how CPUC decisions could impact disadvantaged communities and low-income customers, yesterday we refined our affordability metrics so they are more accurate, transparent, streamlined, and accessible.
Today we took important actions to address the costs of utility services, including ordering utilities to provide tools for consumers to examine the overall affordability of proposed rate increases across industries and proceedings: https://t.co/BcuZQKHgVp
