Stewardship of place defines the character of regional public universities, but it also captures a significant part of our mission @ARRC. We're grateful to @AASCU for this partnership and opportunity to contribute to something so important to us.

Regional public universities are anchor institutions. They celebrate local lifeways. They contribute to livable communities. They are a reminder of public investment, the continuation of which offers hope. That's what stewardship of place is all about.

Regional public universities provide regionally-responsive, affordable postsecondary education that propels upward mobility. But they do so much more than that. Transportation, sidewalks, exhibits, performances, voting, health clinics, parks, camps, tutoring, conferences.

The second document in our partnership is now available, an effort to show what stewardship of place looks like in practice. We identify action items, provide examples, and share case studies.

In November, @AASCU released the first report, a collaboration with the Stewards of Place task force members to develop a philosophy of stewardship for the 21st century and beyond.
