Good trip up to the wilds of Middlesex last night for a visit to Greenford Lodge at the Harrow Masonic Centre. The Hampshire contingent comprised of 8 masons all keen to visit pastures new and support the official visit by W. Bro. Ian Ferguson APGM Middlesex. Fab evening.

I have a cunning plan following the cancellation of my surgery (again)! I have booked a 1 way plane ticket to France, where I shall destroy my passport and proceed back to the UK via a rubber dinghy. I am confident that immediate treatment will be forthcoming, and a £500 bonus!

Remembrance Day at Lyndhurst this morning. A good turnout of Masons to show our community support. It's all good publicity too!

A reminder to all Masons (and others) who meet at the Brockenhurst Masonic Centre - or anywhere else locally! We will be joining the Lyndhurst Remembrance Day Parade on Sunday. Come and show your support and have a bowl of hot stew for £5 afterwards!

Lyndhurst Lodge 8012 meeting on Tuesday 4th November 2025. Bro. Chris Evans passed to the 2nd Degree. Two generations of Ferguson present, W. Bro. Ian (APGM Middlesex) and W. Bro. ARF. My last meeting before my heart operation next Tuesday - hopefully!

Well, its confirmed. Hospital on 2nd November with open heart surgery on 3rd November. No driving for at least 6 weeks after. How am I going to report on various masonic activities? I know, I'll just have to make it up...

It appears that my ramblings on social media are going to be severely curtailed over the next couple of months due to some cardiac surgery. Whilst I might not actually be able to get to masonic meetings, I can still write about them! There will be no escape!

Brevity Lodge 9903 at Chandlers Ford last night. An evening of 2nd Degree Passing's, Squashed Butternuts (whatever they are?), Chocolate Birthday Cake and Camaraderie. I was going to mention a bottle of Mulled Wine that I won in the raffle, but I left it there! Tragedy!

Merdon Lodge 5135 in the depths of Hursley this evening. An excellent ceremony passing Bro. Addison to the 2nd degree. An even more excellent festive board with an explosion of profiteroles for pudding! It might not look pretty but it was scrummy!!

Brockenhurst Lodge 7040. Initiation of Bro. Michael last night. Great singing by Bro. Kim John. Raspberry ripple ice cream and 'that' fruit salad. Most enjoyable.

Lyndhurst Lodge 8012 at the Brockenhurst Masonic Centre last night. Doing their bit. Flying the flags. Initiating Bro. Lloyd. Eating Eton Mess. Sweet!

Masonry can also be quite informal. 2 brethren drinking to forget, one old chap caressing his raffle prize, and one 'Young Mr. Grace' lookalike with both hands on his organ. Oh Matron!

Good fun last night at the Installation of Vale of Avon Mark Master Masons. Congratulations to W. Bro. Chris for stepping into the Big Chair. A warning though - beware of the shifty looking Junior Warden with the big chopper!

Special meeting of St. Mary Magdalen Rose Croix at New Milton last night. 2 candidates perfected into the Order, New Most Wise Sovereign installed, scrummy fish and chips eaten! What more could you want?

Southampton and District Masters Lodge 9181 held their meeting at the Totton Masonic Hall on 24th September 2025. Again, no goats were there, but numerous bottles of wine were involved.

An unexpected log-in error occurred during my attempts to get on to Twitter (X). All now seems to be resolved.

3 wild animals seen around Southampton this morning. The first one to tell me their correct location wins a free meal at the Lyndhurst Lodge festive board!

An Evening of Masonic Spectacle and Sausages in Southampton brought together local Masons and their guests, all eager for a night of ritual (and mustard). It was a special occasion as Bro. Ash Bennette was Enthroned as MWS of Fides et Justicia Chapter of Rose Croix No.294.

Pear Tree 7954 experienced a very unusual evening at the Botley Masonic Hall last night. W. Bro. Stan's 100th birthday, 3 organists, and cake. Seems like the perfect evening to me.
