But the TX amendment is a response to places, including DC, allowing noncitizens to vote in local elections, at least 20 in three states. Critics say it's not necessary and perpetuates a false narrative that noncitizen voting is a serious problem. #ksleg

Texas' (way, way, way too long) state constitution has an article on voting that begins with a list of people who can't vote (such as those under 18). This adds noncitizens to that list, though they're already barred by state and federal law. #ksleg
