This is incredible! I have such an appreciation for nature from one of my older sisters who studies ecology and would constantly stop on a hike to identify a bird call she heard or plant she saw. (Stellar jays are deceitful little birds) I can’t wait to share this with her!.
This video is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time. The owl glides through a field of neutrally buoyant soap bubbles, revealing wingtip and tail vortices. The tip vortices are entrancing—I could stare for hours. The source is a new paper in JEB:

I had the chance to be a practice judge for some of the students preparing for the @BroadcomSTEM competition a few years back. The excitement and dedication the students had was truly inspiring! They were already tackling questions project I hoped to address as a PhD student!🤯.
