We are pleased to hear the Home Secretary has agreed to accept a new law preventing registered sex offenders changing their name to avoid detection. Congratulations to @SarahChampionMP and survivors for their dedication to this work.

We're celebrating the fifth anniversary of the APPG! We've seen incredible progress, but much more must be done to safeguard faith communities. Thank you @TSASafeguarding & @mandatenow for their powerful contributions at this week's meeting. What we do: https://t.co/awVPW7lAtg

As of yesterday (29th June), the new Positions of Trust legislation became active law in England and Wales. This legislation does much to protect the lives of young people. The updated legislation is available on the government's website: https://t.co/rXTcFrhTUS

This is such great news, and will help safeguard many thousands of children and young people in the years to come. We are grateful to @thirtyoneeight @NSPCC and many other organisations we were able to work with, as well as survivors of abuse for bravely coming forward.
Tomorrow is a huge moment for all the young people who've been groomed & abused by sports coaches & faith leaders. It'll be illegal for these roles to have a sexual relationship with anyone under 18. The impact of this will shape young people's lives https://t.co/OrnYJlQtbM
