To be clear.,I'm not complaining about having #ADHD. I'm just relieved I can understand my brain and navigate life a little better. I don't look at it as a disability, but as a superpower that comes with its own kryptonite. Sadly, we so often focus only on the kryptonite.

This has been an issue for me for years. Phones, keys, wallets, pens, train tickets. I spent most of my life feeling I was just stupid. I only got an #ADHD diagnosis and began treatment four years ago. It's never too late to start retraining your brain and forgiving yourself.

I plan to avoid reading and commenting on this thread from now on, but it will forever remind me of the preciousness (and precariousness) of life, the professionalism of our emergency services, and the enormous capacity for compassion that exists within all of us. Keep Kind. x.

Final update: I am on a train home now. Thank you to everyone who responded with such compassion to my thread. It was very moving and I have learnt a few things. 1. This is far too common. 2. Everybody knows someone affected by this sort of tragedy. 3. Deep down, people are kind.

@AJMagicMessage Sorry you had to experience that Andrew. As a train driver who has unfortunately been in this situation, I am only too aware that it is an event that, if deliberate, means some pour soul has reached a point where they believe they have only one option left to them. Even now, I.

Update: we are now on the move again after a harrowing couple of hours. I will be forever grateful to the team who dealt with this horrible incident, and the sensitive way they went about their awful work. Shoutout to @GNRailUK and @CambridgeCops, who have my deepest respect.

@GNRailUK @CambridgeCops Thanks. (I don't want to sound rude, but I'm not sure it's possible to empathise.) I certainly appreciate the sentiment though. Everyone on the train is bound to be traumatised by this event, but we're all aware it's 1000x worse for the driver -and of course the victim's family.

Update: @GNRailUK (or possibly @CambridgeCops) welfare officers are now moving through the train, checking that everyone is ok. Of course *nobody* is okay; but they are still being kind and supportive to support the passengers and staff in such a terrible situation.

Awful. I think the train I am on has just killed someone who was on the track. I feel so sorry for them, and also for our poor driver who is understandably suffering from shock, but somehow managing to be incredibly professional at the same time. Please pray for all concerned.
