4) However, both Amendments refer, NOT to "no US Citizen," but to "no person." According to the Constitution, it does not matter what your legal or illegal status may be. If you are on American land, you get due process, period.

3) Both Amendments refer to "due process". That's a simple concept. It just means the person will receive two things, at a minimum: notice, and an opportunity to be heard by a court. That's it. Easy.

2) The relevant portions of the 5th and 14th Amendments is what we are dealing with, here, and the 5th really only impacts the states, while the 14th impacts the feds. The point is that they both say exactly the same thing on this point, and it is NOT an error, it is on purpose.

Ds have to stop asking "what will I take away from this vote personally?". Rs have to stop asking "which person/policy that I most dislike will be negatively affected by this vote?". We ALL have to think in the best interests of OUR COUNTRY when we vote. A thought for midterms.

UPDATE: Magically, today, we have both been resored to the website, both by name and address. No email was ever received. Hmmm.

Suddenly, the groovy hubby and I are no longer registered to vote, and our address does not exist on the voter rolls. We've only lived here for 6 1/2 years, never had a problem before, there would have been no eeason to purge us. Ah, the joys of having run as a Democrat. .
