The most dramatic blue hour I've witnessed at Top Withens. Mist is often described as a cloak but this was more like a delicate chiffon veil that slid slowly over the hills from the west, gently caressing their contours. It was simply awe-inspiring & I felt privileged to see it.

It's Yorkshire Day and the heather is in bloom - It doesn't get much better than this!.I'll be celebrating later with pie & peas and pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord, followed by a slice of curd tart and a cup of Yorkshire Tea. Happy Yorkshire Day.

The very room where Emily Brontë was born on this day in 1818. This is the parlour at 72-74 Market Street, Thornton, now known as the Brontë Birthplace, for obvious reasons. Charlotte, Branwell and Anne were born here too before the family moved to Haworth in 1820. This photo
