We continue to equip youth under the Youth Economic and Citizenship Building (YECIB) Project to succeed in business. In Kakawoi Village, Pakwach District, this group showcased ideas through, drama, and creative pitches, reflecting the next generation of young business leaders.

We facilitated a field visit to the Climate Action Model Village Project in Pakwach and Nebbi with BENGO/BMZ. Farmers, women, and youth are using climate-smart farming, kitchen gardens, and renewables to boost nutrition, incomes, and resilience. #ClimateAction

Happening now in Nebbi: a 3-day Sustainable Inclusive Youth Employment Pathways workshop with program, M&E & finance leads. Partners are aligning reporting, reviewing performance, and harmonizing documents to advance collective program goals for rural-based young women.

Farmers in Kucwiny & Alala Sub-Counties Nebbi District are embracing change. With support from the AFARD CREMOV project, valley dams are under construction in Jafurnga & Ngali villages to provide reliable water for farming.

Manos Unidas recently toured AFARD projects in West Nile to see their support in action, projects included SURE II in Zombo which promoted improved yields & livelihoods via cooperatives & family planning and EFREC in Pakwach restoring land, agroecology & flood resilience

Last week in Nebbi, the SIYEP Program Implementation Unit and staff held orientation and onboarding. The team explored AFARD’s values and reflected on SIYEP’s goal to train 10,000 rural young women and support 7,000 into dignified work in partnership with Mastercard Foundation.

AFARD farmer groups visited each other to see how their fellows are winning the fight against climate change. From kitchen gardens to fuel-saving stoves, they learned solutions they can take home, and hope they can pass on because when farmers share knowledge, resilience grows.

Under the Trilade Project by @AFARD_UG, @InstituteQavah is training students to cultivate resilience, purpose & a deep connection to land. Through hands-on trainings in agroecology, they are discovering how to work with nature &restore ecosystems while feeding their communities.
