The ADHD urge to try to do something just to see if we can do it, without thinking if its even a good idea.

ADHD is getting the flu, forgetting you have to go outside everyday in winter or you get seasonal affective disorder immediately, and then impulsively booking a weekend trip to Italy to cure it.

Can’t stress enough how much ADHD symptoms improve when you give up trying to change yourself, and start accepting yourself and meeting yourself where you are right now.

My entire productivity and task management system relies on being able to always write down what’s on my mind within seconds, tbh It all falls apart when I can’t do this, for whatever reason

The ADHD desperation to hold a thought until you can say it or write it down, because as soon as you stop thinking about it, it will disappear.

GPs, withdrawing NHS support for shared care ADHD treatment for people diagnosed privately DOES NOT improve those patients’ standard of care. What are you doing??? How is this the best way forward for dealing with this broken system? How is this helping https://t.co/88ryozKCX7

Long waiting lists had pushed people to seek private assessments before entering into shared care agreements

Mental health wise, do you think you were better off 5 years ago than you were now? Or better off now?

People are desperate for treatment that is proven to genuinely change the lives of people with ADHD for the better, but which in the UK is denied to them unless they push with an unfathomable strength for years (and this is AFTER a diagnosis!)

β€œPeople are desperate” - well yes, people are desperate because once they suspect they have ADHD, they want help. Undiagnosed #ADHD is devastating. People have spent a lifetime struggling - it is like being a dark cave and you are fumbling about. https://t.co/8JzVU0iyCq

Does anyone on here with ADHD use an Oura ring? Curious to know if your daily stress charts look like this a lot like mine do, or if it’s just a separate issue I have.

Should I share the report here? It’s a wild ride for any journalists or folks who want a first hand account of why the NHS budget for ADHD diagnoses is so high.

I cannot also emphasize enough that the diagnosis process was exactly the same for me from privately, on the NHS RtC. It’s wrong to say 70-80% of private clinics have a poor diagnosis process, and assume that NHS clinics have some amazingly good and different process.

I cannot emphasize enough that I was forced to do this, it was not my own choice.

You know it’s a bad system when the NHS requires one person to be diagnosed three separate times to receive any care on the NHS at all. How much money (both my own and NHS budget) was wasted on this?

This headline in The Guardian is completely unsurprising to me. Over the past 6 years I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD three separate times due to NHS bureaucracy. Once privately (self funded), once on the NHS, and once via Right to Choose.

One of my favourite parts of beings self employed as a person with ADHD is that my clients hire ME, as a person, and that allows me to dictate to them how I work best, and they generally respect that. Being an employee always felt like being a cog trying to fit into a machine

As a freelance designer with ADHD, I always make sure to ask my clients what their top priorities are, because prioritisation is very difficult with ADHD. My clients: We trust you, do what you think is best. Like.... thank you? But also, please no.

My theory as to why is because neurotypical people see us making all these inexplicable little mistakes all the time, so they think β€œthere’s no way someone with ADHD could be a perfectionist”
