A year ago I had never touched Unreal Engine. Then I took @SchoolOfMotion’s Unreal Engine for 3D Artists class with @JonathanWinbush. That started my Unreal Engine learning journey. 365 days later I’m making stuff like this.

Just watched the first 2 episodes of Pluribus on @AppleTV. It’s really good. I have no idea where it’s going but it draws you in right away and doesn’t let go.

Nobody ever thinks about those poor teenagers who were forced to hang out with their annoying family for the entire holiday break in Home Alone.

Also, if you get angry or defensive every time someone legitimately criticizes the obvious unintentional (and laughable) flaws in AI generated imagery, you are not an artist, but an AI enthusiast. Again AI is just a tool. No one ever defended a broken paintbrush.

But if you argue that simply creating an image through prompts makes one an artist, I’d say you don’t know what that word means. I know that’s not what everyone does, but right now SO MUCH of what’s out there being toted as Art by the AI community is simply prompt to end result.

So if you are someone that argues that imagery created with the use of AI can be art - I don’t disagree with you. I think more and more artists will be able to use AI to create real art as we move forward.

AI is just a tool. And when that tool can reliably allow an artist person to do all of that reliably, without it feeling like playing a slot machine (even in best case scenarios, it’s still very much like that) the conversation will be very different.

Of course you could argue that what makes it different is that with CGI someone is still honing their craft, even if it’s on a computer screen - they are working with composition, light, motion, color. More importantly, it is made better through intention and refinement - with a

That doesn’t mean that an image generated by an AI is not art. If someone enjoys looking at it, it’s not for me to say this is art and this is not. They called CGI “cheating” back in 1982 and now so much of what we call art is created digitally.

A lot of what makes art special (both for the artist and the person appreciating the art) is what it took to get there. And one of the most important part ls of being an artist is being critical of your own work and having the drive and dedication to make it better.

I am not a fan of ballet or opera, but on the occasions I’ve seen both, I was impressed by the dedication the artists had to honing their skills to create art captured in a moment of time. Even if it was something I didn’t enjoy, I did appreciate and respect the work that went

The only thing that surprises me here is how high that truth percentage is.

I am not offended by the antisemitism I am horribly offended at the stupidity required to look at these & conclude ‘The Orthodox Jew who faked the hate crime took great care to conceal his identity but somehow forgot to remove his comically large hat & that’s how we caught him’

I met @ZohranKMamdani after the primaries. The reason he can't explain away his support for slogans like "Globalize the Intifada" is that they represent his core beliefs. He does not hide it; to the contrary, he is proud of it...

This is supposed to be the same truck. The truck is the main character, the focus of the entire production and it's janky, uncontrollable garbage. How is this acceptable? We suspect that all the AI generative software companies gave free access to this studio to "make" this

Boring titles? Not on my watch. In this tutorial, I turn flat text into a work of typographic art, starting in Illustrator, testing a few AI animation tools, and finishing strong with 3D extrusion in After Effects. Old fonts, new tricks. https://t.co/CC5UCLt4ZH
