1. Domestic consumers <200 units consume 8% of electricity 2. This 8% exclusion from National Grid will offset expensive RFO plants that don't have capacity component anymore 3. It will take off subsidy burden from National Exchequer
@AmjadHafeez19 Doesn't make any difference. Plus I didn't mention capacity installed in a specific period. Main thing is that with current demand growth, we have extra capacity which has already burdened consumers. Any reduction in consumption will increase that burden.

Please update yourself 63% of our electricity is from local fuel 18% is from Nuclear That makes 81% electricity from cheaper & local sources. Actual issue is dollar pegging of its Capacity Purchase Price. That's why I ask for Capacity Payments spreading & new pants from PSDP
Most viable import substitution in 🇵🇰🇵🇰 is localising our energy usage. 90% of incremental energy demand in last 15 years has been fulfilled by imported fuels‼️ This is the no.1 reason 🇵🇰🇵🇰 is suffering from $$ crisis in the last 5 years. Solution: - Local Gas - Thar Coal -

Capacity payments are just as you have purchased a car on Bank loan and pay them monthly fixed amount whether you use it 100% of the time or don't use it. Or you rent a car on monthly rent. You pay for petrol driver , maintenance & driver etc separately when you use it.
