DYK: On May 27, 1945, Arthur R. Kennedy, Orlando's first African American City Council member, gathered a small but highly talented team of businessmen at his Orlando home. These exchanges quickly evolved into a strategic alliance in our area named the Negro Chamber of Commerce.
