My poor little dyslexic brain had become convinced the draft of my thesis was 120,000 words which is MUCH too long as opposed to 102,000 which is only a bit too long. This is a real revelation!

I really appreciate Prof Metzger’s insightful consideration of our analysis and that we agree that embryos are quite unlike baby salmon 👶🏼🐟

It's such a strange experience going back to a book I read four years ago and barely understood because of the philosophy and psychology to now find it easily comprehensible. Sometimes it feels like a PhD is a thankless slog but it turns out I've actually learnt a lot.

This is a reproductive justice issue of a monumental kind.
Haven’t been able to get out of my head the fact that 50,000 pregnant women in Gaza have no access to healthcare right now. It’s unimaginable, the amount of stress & trauma they’re experiencing. 5,500 are supposed to give birth this month. Bringing new life, surrounded by death.

Also, quick shout out to the wonderful @fletcher_ruth, for whose class in my LLM I wrote the first draft of this article. Thank you!

I'm so lucky to have a friend in Teresa Baron, all the way from our first day in Cambridge when she was a philosophy student and I was a linguist. We never could have predicted both ending up in bioethics but I'm glad we did.

Today after years of alternating hard work and procrastination I'm so excited to say that our article on property law and frozen embryos came out. Excuse me while I go happy-cry in the corner.

Whilst on the psych ward, I’ve started writing poetry. It feels really scary sharing it, but here’s a piece I wrote called ‘voices’…

"A vulnerable patient’s disagreement with her doctors is being used against her as a means not only to take away her voice but further to deny her the right to litigate against the decision to take away her voice". https://t.co/z1IdHWwpMM

It's been nearly four years of this PhD. I still can't spell "schizophrenia". Dyslexia - always keeping things interesting.
