So it's approaching mid-December and I've heard rumours of Es activity around this time but never had any lu...... oh wait, is that Belarus romping through right now?!?! 😲 #FMDX #FMList

So right now I'm getting Spain and Bulgaria.... 😲 it's pretty indicative of this season's #ESkip here in the east of the UK - seems to have been clouds forming in different areas at the same time! As a result I already have 14TB of IQ recordings to process!! HELP... #FMDX

It looks like I'm the only UK contributor to #FMList (so far) to get GIB that day, but there's a lot of other catches from the area so listen out for English language on 100.5 and audio ID "This is Radio Gibraltar" around 1118z if you want to confirm GIB for yourself 🙂 #FMDX

I'm scanning IQ recordings of Es from Saturday & usually wait until I've collated all RDS catches to log 'em BUT... wait for it... GIB romped in to East Anglia for a few moments - an ITU I hadn't even considered! Don't feel so bad about missing out on LIE now tbh 😁 #FMDX #ESkip

So, thanks to #FMList I was alerted to a potential OIRT Es opening into the UK around Saturday lunchtime. My #SDRPlay #RSP1A has enough bandwidth to cover OIRT, so I tuned in and Belarus appeared... 😯 #FMDX ... nearly as busy as my local Band II

Tropo is off-the-charts here tonight... some first catches from HOL and BEL, locals being swamped by the higher power stuff - I've been listening to QMusic on 100.7 from IJsselstein (175 miles over the water) all day in stereo with full quieting. Mad.... #FMDX

Finally going through my IQ recordings from 3rd June (I've had no time up to now, *so* ready to retire!!!), and it's gradually being revealed that I had just as much luck as everyone else in my "area" ... 1/2 #FMDX

So I think perhaps yesterday was a good day for E-skip in this neck of the woods 😲 #FMDX It's going to take me a LONG time to go through my IQ recordings, but I think I'll manage 😉

So it took me > 2.5 hours to get home from work today but my auto-scanning #TEF6686 logs cheered me up no end! "Hej Sverige!" Now to trawl through the S3 #SDRConsole IQ recordings and begin loggin on #FMLIST My first full #ESkip opening with the new setup 😍 #FMDX

And so it begins... I'm at work today but (of course!) able to monitor my S3's view of the FM band and look what's turned up.... an old favourite from Vesuvius! I'm sure more catches will make an appearance as I trawl the IQ files later! #FMDX
