We're not going to stop supporting FC Cincinnati. "Rain or pour we'll sing forever more". But this is not a good move by the league.

People are happy, and I understand why. But this is going to be a decision that is reversed extremely soon when there is a negative impact on viewership and revenue. Be idealistic all you want, I too want the UK soccer pyramid in the US. But people need to be realistic about this

I will admit, it's good the MLS in the ecosystem of world soccer. But why are we not focusing on growth at home? It's a market barely penetrated, and you're about to have a competitor with a better sales pitch enter in to Division 1 soccer.

And the diehard fans? There's going to be better story lines in the new USL Div 1 league. May as well hop on the boat and pick a team now so that when they start, you can follow it.

So less eyeballs on the game? That means corporate sponsors are going to either pull out or pay less. The whole point is for people to see their logo, why would they pay so much if the number of people watching is lower.

As of 2024, 55% of MLS's revenue is Match Day. Ticket sales, concessions, parking, etc. The idea that normal people will want to show up to a 20° game in January is pitiful and unrealistic. Match day revenue is going to plummet.

Viewership on TV goes down, means companies will pay significantly less for the TV/Streaming rights to the games. Although only 14% of revenue for the MLS, it's the direction the league should go for sustainability. It's how every other sports league in the country got so big.

Soccer is fundamentally not a Canadian/American sport. We just don't watch it. Now, MLS is going to have to compete with NFL, CFB, NHL, NBA, and European Soccer. Before it was just the MLB. Which is a fundamentally different sport to MLS. And as MLB viewership waned, MLS got it.

I genuinely think MLS just punched their ticket to bankruptcy by going to a winter schedule.

Hey @MLS -- let me know how much your anti-fun department fined @09brenner for being awesome at soccer. I'm betting @fccincinnati fans will match it in $8 donations to the @FreestoreFB. https://t.co/AwdetNsVuA

This chart has me to believe that FCC will only wear 1 sock for the game

Our numbers for signups are higher for the Oct 27th Away Playoff game. Several buses are also provided to us from the club. If this is newsworthy stuff, then Local 12 should hire me. Once again, tiny club up north has to yell off the rooftops to proclaim "we are big!"
The HYPE is Real: Kurtis Roush, the Nordecke director of travel, says they have a section of 200 seats for traveling Crew fans for Game 1 in Cincinnati. He also said the club is providing two 55 passenger busses to help get them to TQL Stadium on Monday. #Crew96

Also, Columbus Crew gets their game on a Sunday. Which means they will be at full capacity before kickoff starts. Why do they ALSO not have a fuckass day like Tuesday or Wednesday. Why are we playing one game, then waiting 6 days to play another? Stupid ass playoff format.
