Pretty funny now that I have really doubled-down of mastery in code (excited about) and math (necessary chore). I really enjoy math more because there is just lower friction than code. I can just whip out paper, pencil and a calculator (to check my work) without it being a thing

It's a strange time to be a programmer—easier than ever to get started, but easier to let AI steer you into frustration. We've got an antidote that we've been using ourselves with 1000 preview users for the last year: "solveit" Now you can join us.🧵 https://t.co/GLKm0woI8b

Time to fine-tune your own models instead of relying on blackbox closed-source models! Not doing this is like building a software company and not writing your own software. In the time of reinforcement learning, it's become much easier and cheaper than it used to thanks to
Introducing Tinker: a flexible API for fine-tuning language models. Write training loops in Python on your laptop; we'll run them on distributed GPUs. Private beta starts today. We can't wait to see what researchers and developers build with cutting-edge open models!

I started inserting this note on top of all of my SolveIt Dialogs and I built on for an off-platform @Codecademy project. Exploratory computing is definitely for me++ See the gist below

BTW, I'm in prealgebra now. I might be pretty good at fixing my incomplete foundations (for now). Still going to go through this until I am satisfied.

“Only in-person survives”
Never has it been easier to build something but in many ways also never been harder to build lasting value - everything changes all the time - exponentials are hard to reason about - few true moats on the app layer, only relentless execution and domain knowledge keeps you

Take a problem. Take something you know. Learn some things that you don't. Solve the problem.
Hangzhou is insane. Just look at what these kids do. They casually made a fleet of trash-catching trash cans for a 3 minute video. 232 likes as of now. And all their stuff is like this. https://t.co/6ypqHQgvzX

When the black pill hits
biggest takeaway from the latest @lennysan podcast on AI Evals w/ @HamelHusain & @sh_reya is "AI Evals is a fancy term wrapped around the fundamental data science and analytical thinking and process" made couple of memes to double down on this.

I have been using a hella low-key coding platform and methodology called SolveIt. It's the first coding environment that I've really loved. Thonny being a distant second. What is Solveit?

There has been no better time in history to be a beginner. An individual with an open mind and the grit to iteratively solve problems has at their fingertips many of the most crushing lessons of humanity's past.
