Although it went well, the group disband due to Chris living in VA & friction between me & Kovasci. But Chris always came back to visit.... #ThrowBackThursday

By the time Chris came back to visit in the spring of 1993 - Das Efx was out & EPMD dropped "Head Banger" w/ Redman. So we changed our name to LOUD MOUF HOOLIGANZ to be tougher. We had our 2nd group performance at a talent showcase in Hyde Park, IL.

We peformed @ an open mic night we were too young to get into & walked around the mall hoping to be discovered like Kriss Kross did by Jermaine Dupri. B4 the start of our sophomore yr, Chris moved to Virginia when his mother got a new job. Group activities were put on hold.

This also the studio where we met Twista when he was "Tung Twista." July 1992, Chris goes to visit his father in Atlanta like he always did for the summer & me & Kovasci flew our monkey asses down there wit'em.

We changed our name to "TIC, TAC, TOE" to be more commercially marketable like KRISS KROSS & ABC. Kovasci's mom also plugged us with with a more professional studio, where we cut a 4 song demo tape using the studio producers beats. The main song was called "My Girl."

Kovasci sampled Black Sheep's "The Choice Is Yours" & made a beat. The name of our group was "4 Steps Ahead" cuz my bro Claudell supposed to be a background dancer. Kovasci's mom worked for Ebony/Jet Magazine downtown on Michigan Ave & that's where we had our 1st photo shoot.

Chris said he wrote a rap when he was "nine yrs old", I wrote poems / creative stories so we started a rap group at 13 yrs of age. We used our allowance to book time at Perry's home studio off Madison Ave in Oak Park & recorded our 1st song "Something For Your Jamming Pleasure."

While walking home, I was rapping Digital Underground's song, "Freaks Of The Industry." Our newly homie Kovasciar Myvette was walking w/ us & says, "aye man, you sound really good - do yall rap? - let's start a rap group!"

We graduated Lincoln Elementary School in 1989 (6th grade). We graduated Emerson Jr. High in 1991 (7th & 8th grade). Sept 1991, Me & Chris went to the 1st high-school party of the year called a "MORP" ("prom" spelled backwards).

I met Christopher Brian Bridges during spring of 1988 @ little league baseball practice in Oak Park, IL. Besides me, there were only 2 other "black" boys on the team. Since I recognized Chris from school, I asked him to play catch - that's how I met the best friend I ever had.
