Crescendo Hash is done. I won't tell you how many hours went into making this because you'll question my sanity (again). Every one of these cultivar specific hashes is unique in texture, taste and aroma. Just waiting on the final COA and then it's off to market.
Well, it happened. More powdery mildew. Time to shut the facility down and deal with it. I refuse to sell product that is contaminated with mildew or fungicides. Thanks to everyone who has supported us and I promise we'll be back even stronger. Chin up, shoulders back, carry on.
I've thought long and hard about posting this, but in the end, I believe it is the right thing to do. Here's the back story. A customer bought this and brought it to my attention, questioning whether I thought these were real numbers. 1/
This week I learned that growing with no pesticides or fungicides, whole plant drying, hand trimming and one month of curing doesn't matter to wholesalers, brokers, processors or retailers. They all want to pay the same as what they pay for industial weed. Disappointing.
This is our Rainbow Pie Traditional Hash. Health Canada sent me a letter saying I can’t call it that because pie is a dessert and dessert is a flavour. In light of this ruling, I’m renaming it to “ Ridiculous Rule Hash”. Thank god the children will be safe.
Guess who just got their sales license amendment for dried cannabis, extracts, edibles and topicals. You’re right, we did! Huge step for us. Watch for our medical platform launch very soon.
So this happened last night. After some sleuth work by
@AGlibs
, we found out that we were the winner of the "Favourite Flower" category at the O'Cannabiz awards last night. This is a huge surprise and I'm honoured to receive it. For us, a small micro cultivation company, 1/
Got word that my test results for the Ice Cream Cake are impressive. Little birdie says 3.5% terps and 28% total THC. I'll post the report on Monday when I get it.
We got the results in for our "Ladies Night" Cultivar. 26.7% THC and an amazing 5.3% terps. This comes with our standard small bud warning. I really like this cut, we just need to find the secret to better yields with this one.
Today marks a significant day in the life of our company. I am officially announcing our withdrawl from the race to the bottom. We will hold our pricing levels where they are now and maybe even raise them a little. I know this is a risky move but someone needs to change the 1/
This thread is going to be a little painful for me. Most of you know I pride myself in being open and transparent with consumers. It's served me well, but I always knew that eventually it could catch up with me if something went wrong. Well, something went wrong. A few things.
This is exciting. We made solvent less THC isolate. This will test out at around 98% pure THC. We’re pushing the limits of mechanical separation here.
@HighNorthLabs
get ready to test something new.
So here are the results of my slightly scientific test. Yield was down significantly, around 30%. THC went from 18.75% to 20.68. Terps increased from .84% to 1.36%. I'm pleased that I was able to get a better product. Banker is pissed with yield, screw him, he doesn't even smoke.
On this crop of Colada I cut back the nutrients and light intensity a bit. The thinking behind this is that I’ve slowed the bud growth and this will stack the trichromes tighter. I’ll know soon enough if I’m smarter than a plant. Also increased UVB levels
Math quiz. Gord sold $152,000 of weed. Labour costs were $59,000. Expenses were $78,000. Excise Tax was $30,600. The question is: How long will it be before excise taxes bankrupt Gord and he loses his home? Hello my government friends? Do you fucking care?

Well, after two years of work, sweat and money, We can now officially say we have achieved a level success. This coming week, our cannabis will hit store shelves. Saskatchewan first but we're not done yet. I'll update on the retailers as the product moves through supply chains.
Might not seem like a big deal, but we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished and especially proud of the jobs we’ve created. We’re making a positive contribution to our neighborhood.

We got some great news today! Our microbial tests on our first crop came back with a negative results for all the bad stuff. This means our products will hit the shelves without irradiation. Long live the terpenes!
Well the day is here and the time is now to reveal the Breeder of Farm Gas & Sourdough. After many trials and tribulations with various breeders and suppliers of genetics, I’m pleased to announce the first company to truly deliver on what was promised.
Rate my trimming job please. So for the last five days we have been hand trimming dried flower here at North 40 Cannabis. We have tried to do a good job but I would appreciate some feedback. Would you, as a consumer be happy with this or not?
Some numbers from the farm.
17 employees of which 11 are family.
We have now achieved 11 crops in a row that have not required irradiation to pass microbial testing. That's not luck. I credit our teams dedication to our sanitation program.
I want to explain why you don't find "giant buds" in our packages.Since we don't irradiate our flowers before packaging (at least not yet), we break the flowers down to ensure there is no mold hiding in the big buds. I can happen and we feel the safety factor outweighs appearance
Cannabis Consumers and Retailers, please don't forget what cannabis quality was like before the micro cultivators arrived. A some micros are having a hard time surviving and the newest ones are having trouble finding markets. These are the growers you all said you wanted 1/4
Welcome to my medical grow. This is the garden that soothes me and I love growing in here. No excessive rules and I can smoke cannons. Peace and harmony reign here. Plants are Blue Cheese because it’s my favourite.
This week we are recognizing our four year anniversary as a legal cannabis company. It’s been a hell of a ride and I’m extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished. Thanks to all of you who have supported us and cheered us on.

Makala got her hash together today. The rookie is learning the trade. Front one is Cherry Milk, back are Crescendo. These strain specific hashes are amazing but incredibly difficult to work with. Out of the 5 we've done, these were the hardest and Sourdough was the easiest.
Upbeat Update: Four weeks ago I made the tough decision to do a total reset on our facility due to a powdery mildew outbreak. That decision is controversial due to existing control measures that are available and widely used. We chose to reset.
Here's some of what I learned.
Farm Pics. First two are Cherry Punch. I haven't run this before but I'm liking the plant structure. Let's see these flowers put on some weight and trichomes now. They smell very cherry and expect the terpenes will be high.
Next week we launch the Farm Gas Hash. These are extremely small batch offerings that aren't going to last long. If you want to make sure you get yours, please sign up to our medical platform. Contact is medical

Sometimes, every once in a while, we score a big win and today is one of those days. As you might know, we have been working closely with the Aurora Breeding and Genetics program. They have been responsible for some of our best products we've put to market.
I've been to their
Two more crops of Black Cherry Punch ready for market. New THC high mark at 28.3 is nice but lost some Terps somewhere. All in all, I would deem this a success. No irradiation required as these crops came in clean.
Medical platform coming together
-Same day packaging. You order, I go to the cure can and pick and ship.
-Harvest date, COAs posted on site
-Compassion pricing
-Choice of packaging. Bag, jar or hemp based. You decide.
-smalls options
Tough day on the farm. We had to destroy 100 zookies plants today due to powdery mildew. Now we're praying we've contained to just one grow room because if we haven't, it could spell the end of North 40. I'm hopeful but concerned.
How about a contest? You'll remember this pic from our last Colada harvest. Guess the average weight of dried flower per plant in grams. People who can't guess because of insider knowledge are Kyp, Janeen and the Mother Lab gang. Prize is a North 40 Cannabis T-Shirt.
Help Wanted - Need trimmers willing to locate to the end of the road in north Sask. Own RV an asset or be willing to sleep on cots. Must have the desire to sever all ties with the outside world. TP and benefits included. Preference given to those who like wild game and fish.
How about a contest? Guess the weight of this ball of gooey handcrafted hash and I'll send you an ounce. Just kidding, that would break several laws, which is too bad. I can offer a t shirt though and a $100 donation to the charity of your choice.
Sometimes I can't believe how naïve I am. We received an invitation to participate in the upcoming Karma Cup. I was excited to enter until I read the fine print. It turns out that this is perhaps the most bold attempt to make money on the backs of producers ever. /1
I’m doing a giveaway to celebrate our return. All you need to do to enter is say something nice. Doesn’t have to be about us, just has to be nice. Maybe tell me about how you helped someone.
I want to take a minute to formally recognize the amazing support we receive each and every day on this platform. You all have helped propel us from an unknown little grow op in Northern Saskatchewan to what I deem, a success story in the legal cannabis space. 1/2
Airport Security just confiscated my pot cutting scissors as they were an 1/8”too long. They let me keep my pot and hash though, so that’s cool. Best part was them opening my Tupperware smoke kit and stinking up the airport. Best of times

On a road trip with my daughter to meet customers. It’s a real blessing to have her with me. We’ve both travelled far to get here. Thank you cannabis industry.

Huge week coming up for us. We will be undergoing the inspection/audit for our sales license amendment for dried flower, edibles and extracts. If all goes well, we will be able to sell to all provincial dist. boards, all Sask retailers and directly to our medical patients.
Just in case you haven't heard,
@40Cannabis
is now on shelves with our own branding now. (Or at least really soon) Flower and Rosin will both be sporting this logo. Thanks to everyone who helped make this possible.
Here's a pic of our newly named "Farm Gas" This room is three weeks into veg and has been topped twice. Cola count is gonna be high. In honour of
@Grow_Supplies
Jon letting us use the name he picked, we're going to make a $500 donation to a charity of his choice.
We got our quote for the required recall insurance to sell our cannabis into Ontario directly. Ontario requires 15 million in recall insurance no matter the lot size. The quote was $50,000 plus a $1000 fee with a $100,000 deductible. This is why you can't have anything nice.
We have news. We're going to start running some new cultivars this month. We've decided to run a room of Zookies (Animal Cookies x GG
#4
), and a room of Bubba Kush 2.0 . After that, 1/2 a room of Blue Cheese and half a room of OG Kush. Kinda excited, I must confess.
I thought we could get Farm Gas over 30% THC and we have. It’s a tough barrier to get to and I salute the team for this achievement, they did it with care, dedication and attention to detail. Of course the breeder deserves a lot of credit. 4% terps is a new high mark also.
