The #EK535 is a bit smaller. It was the hidden basement laboratory folks that spliced the original #MK735 DNA into something smaller...they cut down the height and a bit of the width, but we'll all wait as it still needs to go through beta testing.

You can quote me on this: "Redundancy only works if you catch the failure(s) before ALL redundancy runs out." #NAS #HDD Thank the gods for (ZFS) RAID-Z2.

Started a tiny chassis project way too long ago. Not sure how far I’ll get before something interrupts it again. This Helios64 (Nano-ITX MB by @kobol_io, but no longer available 😭) might still be the most beautiful, tiny, well thought out ARM powered SOHO NAS to date.

We’re finally scraping out the alpha versions of the #MK735 #NAS/#PC/#computer/#server chassis 🙁…reclaiming screws, fans, USB connectors and whatever. This was one of the last, pre-beta #3DPrints. I always thought of it as the "Orange Creamsicle®" version.

Printing objects with a flexible #TPU filament on the trusty old Original #Prusa MK2S is always a joy…slow and steady, very little or no stringing when using the harder stuff (Shore 98A). Cold bed + 3M blue tape at 215c! We have this stuff dialed in! #3DPrinting

I think these are really good photos being they were taken 17 years ago by an R/C helicopter.

Looks like good old basic math and the #PrusaSlicer estimate wins!

Need a bit over 5 meters of PLA for my next print. Spool core circumference = 310mm; # of windings left about 28, so that's 8.68 meters. 👍 Maybe a smart man would have saved time and just used a spool w/more filament, or actually just measured the residual length? #WasteNot #PLA

Aflink for switch: https://t.co/1TTHWqdEpZ During prototyping of the #EK535, even the shorter 60CM cable length version is a bit long. I'll cut it down to about 40CM/16", re-solder and try that.

A simple 16mm blue LED lit power switch hidden behind one of the #EK535 front cover options. I rather like the understated effect the honeycomb grill presents . #NAS #PC #3DPrinted

Prague, we have a problem... Do you have some baling wire or blue tape?

It’s always nice to have a @MicroCenter store just 10 minutes away when another kilo of basic gray PLA+ is needed. Just 36 hours more on this not so small #3DPrint. (Memo to self: At some point you can just over tweak a project)

Good idea to keep one each of those empty #3DFilament spools by vendor. If you have a gram scale that has a “Tare Weight” adjustment, you can sometimes melt that filament down to the very last few grams. In this example, we’re a bit more than 20 grams short for this print.

April 9, 2019 #MK735 beta testing starts. EXACTLY 3 months later it's the featured front page project on @MyMiniFactory! Again, our thanks to the very best of an international group of beta testers! -AngryBug -BrianMoses -MikeHancho -Pete -Stamps 👍

Many spools of #sewing thread with a matching bobbin for almost all. Keeping that “special shade of red” with the matching bobbin got simpler using a #3DPrinted clip. Calling this first clip #01/01 - Bernina bobbin/Coats & Clark 250 yd. spool - @MicroCenter Inland PLA+ True Red.
