Brief collection update:. You’ve seen me post previously about collecting every player with cards. Well I’ve altered that goal. We’re now collecting every single player. As it stands today, I’m at 1,416 total players collected, or about 85% of every Steeler ever. #HereWeGo

Reflecting today on the first ever standard issue professional football card set, 1935 National Chicle! . This set features for Steelers/Pirates during that season, and two others (Ed Matesic & Swede Johnston) who later played in Pittsburgh! . A true legendary set! #HereWeGo

Pine is featured on the 1961 Nu-Card set! This is a college set that features some of the top players from the ‘61 season! This is also Pine’s only trading card! A fun little college set, and the only appearance you’ll see in this collection! #HereWeGo

Pine was a second round pick in ‘62 by the 49ers where he’d spend his first three seasons. He was a regular starter during those seasons, but was a reserve in Pittsburgh, playing in 8 games before his retirement! #HereWeGo

Campbell is feature here on the 1966 Coke Cap! He does have a ‘64 Coke Cap with Minnesota I would eventually like to find, but always happy to hunt down any of these. All of these are difficult; so I’m happy with everything! #HereWeGo

Campbell began his career in Minnesota for his first 2 years before coming to Pittsburgh where he played parts of 5 years. He grabbed 5 ints and had a FR TD. After 46 starts in Pittsburgh, he was traded to Baltimore during the ‘69 campaign where he’d ultimately retire. #HereWeGo

Breedlove gets his standard issue card in 1963 Topps. Or if you’re really daring, you can also hunt down his Salada Coin or Coke Cap as well! Always cool to feature someone from your town in a project like this! #HereWeGo

Kortas didn’t get his standard issue card debut until 1969 with the Topps Issue that season. You can see his 75 prominently displayed in the photo as well! He is also in the KDKA set from ‘68 that we’ll get into really soon! #HereWeGo

Kortas was traded to the Chicago Bears in 1969, after being unseated in his starting role by Joe Greene. And speaking of Greene… Kortas was the final Steeler to wear 75 before Greene ended its reign. #HereWeGo
