For his indominatable courage, consummate valor, and outstanding leadership, MSG Lee was awarded the Medal of Honor on 29 January, 1952. His portrait now sits in the 2ID Hall of Heroes, among many others. He was truly Second to None. #Hero #MoH #WeRemember

Each time they assaulted, they were pushed back. Each time, MSG Lee regrouped the platoon and attempted again. On the fifth attempt, standing at the front of the formation, he was struck by another grenade, knocking him to the ground and wounding him in both legs.

When his platoon was forced from their position, overwhelmed by a large enemy force, and their PLT leader was wounded, MSG Lee assumed command (as a good NCO does). He regrouped the remainder of his platoon and led them in repeated assaults to regain their position.
