Restoring a vintage set of tables for a mate. The old varnish had withered & discoloured. Moisture had blackened the wood. So they’ve been stripped, bleached, recoloured & French polished. A few coats of wax will be applied in a few days. #restoration #workshop #repair

I’ve purchased this from a Methodist church. It was being used as an Alter. They purchased 2 in the 1890’s. The top has cleaned up nicely 👌🏼 the wood most likely Maple. I love the frieze with Gothic tracery. #antique #restoration #workshop #pugin
