the character isn't real but you don't call characters racial slurs and terms or joke about about sexual violence or defend their abuses without some internalized ideas shaping that. there is "i dont like this character who happend to be a woman" and there is "i hate this bitch"
the character is not real but the way they're treated by people does tend reflect on some real life views, that why women characters are judged harder than men, that's why LGBT characters are censored in countries with homophobic laws.

the way you all talk about “what counts as reading” leads to and is connected to ableism and i think you all need to think about that more and realize where this rhetoric comes from and that it is harmful, you see it all the time with audio books, braille and more.
