Today we learnt that a chemical change can not be undone and that a new substance is made. We enjoyed observing the chemical changes which occurred when mixing bicarb and vinegar together to make a 🌋 as well as mixing ingredients together to make 🍪 #LearningatOC

We read David Shannon’s book - Good Boy, Fergus. This story was about a mischievous 🐶. Whilst reading this book we realised we also knew of a cheeky 🐶 by the name of Rufus. We were inspired to 🖊 and 🎨 our own version of this book, Good boy, Rufus #LearningatOC

Every Tuesday we do problem solving. Today we were consolidating our understanding of the strategy ‘Working Backwards’. We also used FISH to help us find the answer. Overall, our maths lesson today was pretty sweet 🧁 #LearningatOC

In science today we were mini meteorologist! We discussed the different ways we can communicate what ‘weather’ it is and how we a thermometer 🌡 to measure the temperature. We loved watching a recent weather report to see if the predictions were correct #LearningatOC

Today for our maths warm-up we played ‘jelly beans, chocolate and liquorice’. We were able to consolidate our understanding of place value. We were having so much fun that we didn’t even realise we were learning #LearningatOC

Today we learnt that a symbol is a picture that tells us information. Weather symbols are a quick way we can determine the weather forecast. We created our own symbols for different types of weathers ☀️ ☔️ ⛈ ❄️ 🌈 ⛅️ ☁️ # LearningatOC

Today we read The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carl. We then were introduced to both analogue and digital time. We can now successfully tell time to the hour on digital and analogue clocks ⏰ #LearningatOC

Today we used our inferring skills...clue by clue...we discovered that we are investigating 1BJ’s birthdays this week 🎈 🍰 🎉 We enjoyed working in small groups to define key vocabulary which will help us collect data, graph our results and explain our findings #LearningatOC
