One of my recent socmed discoveries is this account on IG which posts actual voice recordings of our greatest artists talking about art, their own works, and processes. This is so exciting given that we know their names and their works, but we hardly hear their spoken voice.

Having lots of body hair makes it harder for biting insects such as mosquitos and other ectoparasites to bite you and it also work as an alarm. There are even science papers documenting this. https://t.co/6BGU5mKjwj

The current government intervention of just building dikes and embankments (aka the ignominious "flood control projects")—even if they were built properly—are nothing but a band-aid solution that may offer temporary protection, but don't prepare us for the grimmer future.

The unprecedented flooding in Cebu and Negros is a wake up call for the government. As we are completely losing our forest covers and natural drainage systems, typhoons are exponentially growing wilder and wilder. In other words, it will only get worse in the coming years.

Even though these works are some of the earliest Philippine materials that entered the London museum, they were just stored in a box which was not opened and sorted until this year.

This 19th century tipos del país watercolor painting was recently digitized and uploaded by the London's Victoria and Albert Museum (@V_and_A) depicting a woman jeweler, a craft presently associated with men. This work is part of the 16-piece lot that they recently discovered.

I think many don’t know that the entry of Michelin was government-sponsored. The DOT reportedly spent millions of dollars for the project. DOT also got to pick the places to be reviewed, which explains Cebu’s inclusion over more popular tourist spots like Boracay or Palawan.
@13thFool they haven't touched other regions yet! major cities lang 'yung tinarget nila ata for this round. they expand year after year/region after region (ex. sa states, recently lang sila nakapag award ng mga bib gourmand & stars in texas)

Ang worrisome ay hindi yung pagka-petty, but PNP's gross ignorance of the law. But let me take this opportunity to remind everyone that while Duterte is at the ICC being prosecuted for the "Drug War" killings, this is the very agency that actually carried out the mass murder.
Kinondena ng PNP ang paggamit sa uniporme ng mga pulis bilang costume sa isang Halloween party. Binigyang-diin ng ahensya na ang ganitong gawain ay isang insulto sa integridad at dignidad ng kanilang serbisyo. | via @_KarenDeGuzman (📸: PNP)

Now I want to go to Egypt!
After more than two decades of development, the Grand Egyptian Museum has officially opened on Egypt’s Giza Plateau. Designed by Heneghan Peng Architects, the huge complex brings together over 100,000 artefacts, including the complete Tutankhamun collection displayed in one
