AI lowers the cost to start. It doesn’t eliminate: • responsibility • maintenance • trust • long-term ownership Those costs still decide who wins.

This isn’t about skill or intelligence. It’s about who can afford to carry the ongoing cost of ownership. Most business owners can’t. Some curious builders will try. Developers are structurally positioned to do it long-term.

Developers still benefit the most overall. For them: • learning compounds • tools plug into paid work • experimentation feeds income Their opportunity cost is lower — and their upside is higher.

But many of these tools hit a ceiling when: • others rely on them • money is involved • reliability matters At that point, the cost of “just hacking” goes way up.

Curious builders see the biggest jump. They’re willing to spend unpaid time experimenting. AI lets them turn ideas into working tools. That’s a real unlock — and some great stuff comes from it.
