Having a 50-year mortgage as an option doesn't mean everyone HAS to get a 50-year mortgage now... You can still get a 30-year, 15-year, 10-year, 7/1, 5/1, 3/1... You can still rent, or lease, or be homeless. I'm convinced those posting fear about it are just comment-baiting.
