Regardless, no vote for you from me. I don't think the addition of parties to the municipal scene is a good idea. And I strongly disagree with the reasons the UCP provincial government used to implement parties municipally, both their stated reasons & their real reasons (part 2)

One more thing on the upcoming Alberta municipal elections. If you're a candidate and you are part of a civic political party, I won't be voting for you. I might agree with you 100% or 0% or somewhere in between (part 1)

Declined and spoiled ballots get counted. Maybe the politicians will notice. Ideally, though, I'd like all of us to get out and actually vote, actually put an X beside a name next Monday. Get to it! (part 4)

There may well be some candidates you like on the ballot. You don't like anyone who's running? Decline one or more of your ballots. Spoil one or more of your ballots. Sounds silly? Maybe but at least you make it to the poll. You did your duty and all that (part 3)

In the last municipal election, in 2021, looking close to where I live in #yyc, Cochrane had a turnout rate of 33%, for Chestermere it was 31%, and for Airdrie it was 23%. Calgary did marginally better at 49%. These run from poor to atrocious. We can do better (part 2)

People of Alberta, there are municipal elections province-wide next week, on Monday, October 20. Please vote. I say it again: Please vote. We generally do a bad job of getting to the polls (part 1)
