The way that fans of these movies have tried to reframe criticising bad and rushed CGI as an act of disrespecting VFX artists to shield the companies *who are responsible for overworking and underpaying them* from criticism is incredible
@wyattyhalpert
Maybe if Disney started shooting on sets and using more practical effects with CG used to compliment then the VFX artists wouldn’t be so overworked. They basically have to make the entire movies for pennies whilst the producers horde the benefits.
@wyattyhalpert
But don’t you understand? Criticism means you automatically hate someone or a group and therefore want them wiped off the face of the earth.
@wyattyhalpert
I hate CGI, but that's in part because I want to get those VFX artists back to making kickass models and becoming household names in their own right.

@fujikomine1era
The way fans of these movies and TV shows bitch about unfinished CGI that only upsets them if they let it upset them is boring
@wyattyhalpert
I’ve seen so many VFX breakdowns for marvel where the artists literally have to make the whole environment or remove the set pieces that the higher ups don’t like and make a whole new environment. It’s crazy
@wyattyhalpert
I'm a VFX artist and I don't really think the last couple months of viral tweets going "lol look at this frame of janky VFX" is helping me get a raise.
