If those absolute clowns in the US Congress actually cared about the privacy of social media users, they'd enact more stringent privacy laws instead of arbitrarily zeroing in on TikTok.

Honestly, Americans should be more concerned about American companies spying on them and sharing that with the US government, since, like… the US government could actually decide to arrest them based on the data, while China couldn’t do anything unless they visit…
@writerofscratch
They also need to crack down on American companies giving data away but that won’t happen. Tbh I’d be fine if TikTok died bc it’s WAY too addictive for people. When I hear people are “3 weeks sober” for it, there’s an issue

@Iargesandwich
TikTok isn’t allowed on US bases, which is fine, but you can bet your bottom dollar no one ever would think of getting rid of Google
@writerofscratch
Some politicians have been acting more like reality TV trash than true ambassadors to the world of our values. It is deeply shameful and disrespectful. You can disagree with someone without acting like a downright disgusting brat. So ashamed. This is who we are to the world.
@writerofscratch
Not saying that TikTok is not a threat for privacy (as Facebook is also) but those questions and the people asking them feel like a joke. They don't even understand technology but they ask questions as if they knew everything and had moral superiority. Honestly disgusting.
