We're saddened to learn of the death of pianist Lars Vogt at the age of 51. He made many appearances at Wigmore Hall and is very much missed amongst artists, audiences and staff alike. We extend our condolences to his friends and family.

Dame Mitsuko Uchida's close relationship with the Hall covers more than five decades and countless acclaimed performances. She will be presented with the Wigmore Hall Medal in recognition of her long association with the Hall after her recital on 2 June.

British Baritone, Sir Simon Keenlyside was knighted by The Prince of Wales today for his services to music. Simon has had an exciting international career performing in operas and concerts since the mid-1980s.
We have asked DCMS to clarify what the government's announcement on gatherings means for the Hall’s proposed small socially distanced audiences. When they get back to us, we will let everybody know. We assume that like places of worship we will be exempt, but wait official word

We are very sorry to learn of the death of Julian Bream - one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Julian gave his first performance at Wigmore Hall in 1951. He will be greatly missed. RIP.
Julian Bream has passed away. Words can't do justice to how highly I think of him - he was the most excitingly human of guitarists, but even that statement plays down his utterly supernatural energy. Rest in peace.
'There was no audience in the building but there were plenty of eager ears for his Bach and Schuman recital which was streamed live on the internet.'
