here are some harm reduction tips for protecting yourself before, during, and after a protest (from @hackinghustling). not all of these suggestions work for everyone, only you know what works best for you

perform risk assessments for your own personal privacy and your organizing. what do you post online? what do you keep offline? what communication methods are you using outside signal? what protections do you have in place for yourself if you get doxxed? are you ‘face out’ online?

everyone is experiencing what sex workers went through when fosta/sesta passed and all i can say at this point is to focus on opsec + risk assessments, find your people online, connect across platforms, download signal, and be prepared to organize ‘offline’ to avoid surveillance

If you weren’t part of the fight against FOSTA/SESTA and are just now realizing how much work goes into shifting your online presence and networks without a clear picture of what’s going to happen next, welcome, sex workers have been here for years, many of us are no longer here.

fucked up how often sex workers are forced to repeat this but: conflating prostitution w/ rape makes it harder for people selling sex to report assault/exploitation, empowers groups/individuals/the state to keep sex workers from self-organizing, and keeps survivors in the shadows
