They put more focus on the body language, specifically they put way more focus onto Reze's eyes, to tell her true intentions. Compared to the manga, Reze's confession felt more desperate and that she was genuinely heartbroken; her eyes watering up confirmed it for me.
hmmm the movie really made everything feel more intense than it was in the manga. i donβt know if i can describe it as misleading but certain scenes just βfeelβ different, if that makes any sense

@whonvr Reze's goal was never to kill him in the phone booth. Elsewise faking having a job, going to school, etc wouldve all been pointless. She was always trying to decieve Denji into falling in love with her so they could run away from Public Safety. Both Denji and Reze's feelings Cnt.

@Newdlzzzzz @StarkyTheSalab I'd hard disagree reze's love for denji was anything but shallow. There was no real reason for reze to take him to school, to the festival, not kill him on the first day or the entire week he kept coming into the cafe to visit him. Reze had a real connection that she had to play

@StarkyTheSalab I get that people really want Denji to be happy but I think people are forgetting how intentionally shallow Reze and Denji's relationship was. Sure, Reze did eventually come to love Denji, but it should be recognized that that love was built on a lie.
