π¨οΈπΆββοΈ Winter water safety matters. Icy water is dangerous. Teach children never to go on ice and to keep well back from edges, especially in the dark. In an emergency, stay calm and call for help. Never jump in - always dial 999 and ask for the fire service. #WeAreWMFS

π₯ Portable heater safety π₯ Cold weather heaters can keep you warm, but misuse can cause fires. Remember: β keep heaters 1m from furniture/curtains β never leave unattended or on while sleeping β plug directly into wall sockets β switch off & unplug when not in use.

UPDATE: Full handover now made at incident in Jewellery Quarter. Police remain in attendance through night & fire crews will return every 4 hrs. 1 uninjured man rescued from 2nd floor flat roof. Drone & thermal camera assisted crews, who used 20 breathing apparatus & 3 main jets.
