Sophomore Nate Martinez records a 15:45 5k in Huntsville, which is the fastest certified 5k in Indy team history. Thus also making him the fastest sophomore in Indy history. 😉🏃♂️🙌🔥🦅
Congrats to Indy legend Sadie Cook who has made her big decision...she will continue her education and her running career with the Samford Bulldogs! We are very proud of you!
@wcsIHSmw
For the first time in our history, we have two girls make All-State in XC. Congrats to Jaynie and Julia Halterman (11th and 13th) for being named All-State for the first time.🔥🏃♀️🏃♀️🦅
Indy legend Kathy Kroeger takes her place on the wall at Stanford's athletics museum next to Carolina Panthers RB Christian McAffrey. We miss you KK! Congrats!

"Hey, let's attach Christmas lights to our bodies and then have a team night run...followed by a Christmas party!". So we did. Indy XC Holiday Run 2019.

Update: Indy XC's Elijah Browning annihilates the course and presses the buzzer at the top of the warped wall on American Ninja Warrior in Tacoma! 🦅🏆💪💪💪
Huge congratulations to SYDNEY COIL and REBECCA MAY for both being named National Merit Finalists. This is the first time we've had two athletes named in the same season!
Congratulations to senior Cameron Moore who is committing to continue his studies and his cross country and track career at Trevecca Nazarene University! New dragons to slay!

Ladies and gentlemen, the 2019 Indy cross country teams. 55 young men and women who are as tough as deer jerky. Time for the curtain to rise this Saturday.

The Indy girls have once again claimed hardware at the Voyles Classic, this year finishing 3rd out of 21 teams in the AAA classification. Julia Halterman, Emma Pearson, Samantha Ude and Joanna Halterman bringing home medals today for the Lady Eagles. 🏆🦅💪
The XC class of 2022 thought it would be a great idea to get the coaches Hawaiian shirts with the team logo and their...faces on them (!). Thanks for all of your service to our program, seniors! And for your unique taste 😂
Indy began competing in 2006 as a 9th-12th grade school in XC and qualified the girls team for state. In every year since, either the boys or girls team (or both) have qualified for state. With today, both the girls and boys have now appeared 12 times each.
Whatever the result may be, we are grateful to have athletes who are able to take the line tomorrow...wearing the navy blue and Vegas gold, and running one more time for each other.

The 2020 Indy girls are the fastest collective team in school history to this point in the season: the current top five are all in the top-15 all-time in Indy XC history. Persist and excel through challenging times, Lady Eagles!

Jaynie Halterman WINS the Garmin Cross Country Championships Silver Division race in a PR time of 17:43! Fastest time run by an Indy sophomore since '06 national champ Kathy Kroeger! Image from the live feed as she breaks the tape! Congrats Jaynie!!!
Indy boys qualify FOUR boys to the state cross country meet! Outside of qualifying a full team, this is the most we’ve ever qualified individually in a season. Congrats to Finn, Karston, Brayden and Nate for advancing to state. 🏅🦅
The best girls team in Indy history keeps rolling in to next week's state meet. Three consecutive trips to state and three consecutive regional runners-up for the Lasy Eagles. 🦅🏃♀️
This is the lineup from the 1st Annual Indy XC Halloween Run. We got some strange looks when we ran through Toll Gate. Thank you
@nfin701
for the photo :)
Final count is in. 26 personal 5k records set today by Indy runners. Thank you to Huntsville High School and for the city of Huntsville for creating an absolutely national class cross country meet for us to enjoy.
CRAZY FAST TIME from freshman Jayne Halterman on the track tonight at the Great Eight in the 1600m...4:55.63 (!!!). This is straight to

When your 5k record holder, long time captain, and heart of your team commits to run with one of the finest science/math institutions in the world…it’s a special day.
A joyous day in Hendersonville as Indy qualifies both teams and a maximum contingent of 14 runners into state. This is the first time both teams have qualified together since 2018. This is the tenth time in school history both teams have advanced together. 🏆🦅
Milesplit US rankings have our girls team in the US top 50 this week based on composite 5k times at

Indy girls finish back-to-back Region Runners-up for the first time in their 15 year competitive history. This will be their 11th trip to state overall.

When the Indy boys take the line at state next weekend, it appears they will carry the longest streak of consecutive state team appearances amongst all 160+ schools in the large school division at 12 straight.

23 kids here for workout, but only 8 qualified for state. They either didn't get the memo that the season is over, or they love their teammates and want to keep it going with them. 🦅❤️
We are very pleased to announce the largest number of National Merit Semifinalists we have ever had in one season at 4. Huge shoutout to Ava Gordon, Rylee Lent, Nate Martinez and Lillian Valk for extraordinary achievement off the cross country course. 🐐
Four wonderful years with this family and today they celebrate together as Zach and Luke commit to continuing the education and track careers at MTSU. Thanks for everything, Byrums. We are looking forward to seeing them in a slightly different shade of blue.
Indy's girls team score of 168 was their lowest point total at a state meet ever. No Indy team (boys or girls) had ever finished as high as 5th without the benefit of an all-state finisher before today.
Congrats to Nate for the Herff Jones “Heart of the Team” honor tonight! He did a great job on the WillCo Power Hour radio show. Thanks to Herff Jones and
@cspulliam
for their recognition of Nate.
Congrats to these four guys for a great state meet today! Everyone ran under 18 and Nate paced us with a top-50 finish at 16:51. Huge PR for Karston today as well. Great ending to the campaign, gentlemen. 🏅🏆🦅
The girls 1600m is the most incredible athletic legacy at Independence. In 16 years of existence, Indy girls have won the state title in the event SEVEN TIMES with four separate winners. That's essentially every other year. Just bonkers. 🦅🏆
Jaynie Halterman just broke the meet record (!!!) at the Great 8 in the 3200m run, posting a 10:55.29. Considering the remarkable quality of competition at this meet over the last two decades, this is a truly impressive feat. 🏆🐐
Signing celebration for Julia Halterman as she commits to Lee! On stage, a massive group of family, coaches, teammates and friends to wish her the best. Congrats, Julia! On to Lee, but always an Eagle here! 🦅
Historical type day up front for Indy. Nate Martinez's 15:39 (still awaiting official time) is a new school record for 5k, and Jaynie Halterman's 17:37 is a new PR and we think (?) the 2nd fastest time run in TN so far this season. 🤯
Congratulations to two of our tri-captains: seniors Lukas and Zach Byrum will be pursuing their education and competing in track and field for the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State U! 🏃♂️🏃♂️💪🦅
