To celebrate finishing a dissertation on North Carolina economic history and moving to NC, I’m trying to plan a NC economic history-themed road trip. Any suggestions of places I should stop?

Congrats! No inside info on NC, but if you plan to be out west at all next year maybe we can discuss piggy backing and visiting UC Davis for a talk?

The Moratock iron furnace is in a nice park if you’re in that direction (probably not worth going significantly out of your way for though)

I’m planning to spend lots of time in Chapel Hill! The archives at the Wilson Library are phenomenal

The Outer Banks! Justify it with a visit to the Wright Brothers Memorial, which feels pretty significant to econ history.
