Attributed to Domenico Moglia, a leading mid-19th-century mosaicist who worked for clients including King George IV. Micromosaics use thousands of tiny glass pieces per inch. Developed in 18th-century Rome, the technique is still used today.

Designed by Gothic Revival artist Nathaniel Westlake for an 1864 exhibition at the South Kensington Museum (now the V&A), this stained glass panel depicts The Vision of Beatrice from Dante’s Divine Comedy, where Beatrice, symbol of Divine Love, leads Dante into Paradise.

Behold Theseus, triumphantly seated atop the defeated Minotaur. Note the coils of thread at the creature’s side, his path out of the labyrinth. Carved by a young Canova in 1782 from marble gifted by patron Girolamo Zulian, this early masterpiece now resides in the V&A. 🏛️💫

These gloves don’t try to fit the hand at all. Part of Freddie Robins’s Odd Gloves series, they’re inspired by Struwwelpeter, where Peter lets his hair and nails grow wild. Robins uses knitting to push beyond practicality, turning familiar garments into thought-provoking art.
